If you're an electrician, carpenter, plumber or if you own a jewelry store, restaurant or any specialized business you know your business but you may not know anything about mine. So you may ask, "What's this Control Panel and all this, "Do it Yourself" stuff about?" Good Question.

It's really about how you feel when you look at this Control Panel. If you're intrigued and you wonder what it does, you're thinking it looks kind of friendly; you may like to learn more and find out how to add and alter content on your website. My websites will allow you to do it, that's why they are called Content Management Websites.

On the other hand, if you're looking at the Control Panel and thinking, "I wouldn't touch that thing with a stick!" No problem! I'll do it for you. And because it's a content management website, that is designed to be easily altered and added to, the cost is kept low.

If you're somewhere in the middle. You can do what you're comfortable with and I will do the rest. It's that easy. Read on.

This is your Control Panel. You would use a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox to go to your Administrator Login.

Once you have entered the correct User Name and Password you will be taken to the Control Panel where you can add, remove or alter your webpages.

You can also prepare pages to be published at a later date or unpublish pages that are currently published.

The Content Management Program T.J's uses is called "Joomla", Joomla is offered to the world free of charge from the "Open Source" Community. The people who create and maintain Joomla gladly accept donations from grateful users but never demand money for their product.

It is important to know that T.J's Internet Marketing does not, and by agreement, can not, charge for the Joomla product.

T.J's Internet Marketing charges for modifying, posting content, hosting and other services required to bring an Internet presence to life.

For Your Information, the site you're using right now is a Joomla Content Management site. I am typing this text directly into an editor inside of Joomla.

The photos were prepared for display outside of Joomla and uploaded to Joomla for use on the site. The Open Source community comes to our aid once again by offering, free of charge, an "image manipulation" program called "The Gimp." "Gimp" is an acronym for "GNU Image Manipulation Program." "GNU" refers to the type of license the software carries. It's still free but you're not allowed to re-package it and sell it.

You can use The Gimp to prepare photos and other images for your website. Don't worry, I will show you how.

You can also use Google's free Picasa photo program to prepare photos for the web.

Bottom line is this: Take care of your jewelry store, serve your restaurant customers good food, go about the business of being an electrician, carpenter or plumber. If you have the time and the inclination to tweak or even build pages onto your website, Great! I'll help you over the rough spots and show you where to find the information you need to get as far into it as you like.

If you only want to adjust your summer and winter hours and update the photos in your slide show, Perfect! We can do that, I'll show you how.

If you would like me to handle any and all maintenance and adjustments, I'll do it at a price you can afford.

Remember, your website will help customers find you and contact you 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. A full time, dynamic, full color, sales person that only works for you.
